Best Casino Jackpot and Making a Stand!

No words could describe how we felt looking at that machine. I had to physically touch it to believe it. Who would have thought that after everything that transpired the months before that we would be here at this particular moment. It all started with a phone call someone had placed to Andy yesterday morning. He insisted the caller was a man, older in age, stating he "took many chances but there are none left".

Andy, my childhood friend and next door neighbor rushed over to wake me up to tell me everyhting that he experienced. Now, I, on any other day would have usually wouldn't have given him the time of day, but something was different this time. I could see the bewilderment and curiousity building in his face.

The indian grounds were a sacred place.No tourists, no stores no nothing was ever built on property. Andy was adamant about going there, just to see if something new was under construction or if there was anything actually happening out there. I called Vicky, our only friend with a valid Driver's License.

In 20 minutes she was dressed and ready for the adventure Andy had insisted we were going on. We got there in about 30 minutes. Nothing but dirt. All of a sudden, A Indian Chief came up to us. Then he explained to us that a new company had apparently bought rights to the old indian grounds and that they were going to start building a gambling casino there. After speaking with the Chief,we agreed that the land did belong to the indians and building on it would be wrong.

So, the next week we had protesters come out and we stood strong to hold off the construction workers, until the foreman came up to us and stated "We are going to build and if you have a issue we should take it up with the county". Unfortunetely we had to leave the premisis but the Chief stayed back to talk to the lead foreman. It took them about 6 months to get the casino built.

Within those 6 months the chief whose name is not known til this day, came over regularly and they kept in contact with Vicky, Andy and I. Opening day we all met up with him and we waited outside the new casino along with hundreds of other people.

The doors opened and everyone flooded in. The next thing we know, Chief was gone. Andy sat down at a machine and Vicky and I went over to see if maybe he knew where the Chief had gone. That's when it happened. As we all sat and looked at the slot machine literally turn itself all we could do was watch in disbelief. We saw the Chief in the slot machine, and he then told us at that time, "I choose to call a young person, Andy I chose you, I choose a young person that I believed would fight for what they believed in."

"When I told you the story of really happened here, you, Vicky and Julie stood here with me and the protestors you helped bring to try to fight against this very builiding in which we stand. That is what I have faced for years. All the money in the world couldn't buy a brave, strong-willed heart.

After I saw the heart all of you had, I decided then to do what I am doing now." After a intense minute, we all just stood there. The machine hit JACKPOT.. Andy, Vicky and I bought the casino and renamed it "Seminole Hard Rock Casino" in honor of the Indians that were there before.

The meaning of the story is even if you don't get the JACKPOT or a casino in the end, if you believe in yourself and you take a stand, do it for the right reasons, the Indians did.
